John Griffin’s photography makes a telling complement to this poetry. His images help place us in the world of his poems, a world where the Brosnan Yard coal tower sits cheek to jowl with the Atlanta skyline. In this South of endless contradictions, Griffin’s images make us feel the heat. The best word choice here is ‘palpable.’
